Meet Our Team

Not all home inspectors are created equal. We are proud to say that not only does our team meet and surpass the state-required continuing education credits, we also receive customer service, diversity, equity, and inclusion training as well. It is our way of guaranteeing that our clients receive the highest quality of inspection and education they deserve.

Greg Baldwin

Radon Technician

As one of a select few radon technicians in Maryland, Greg’s daily job consists of picking up, installing, performing, and transporting radon tests and equipment. And although he spends a lot of time on the road—a task that some of us would dislike—Greg sees this as his favorite part of the job. Moreover, he enjoys the weekly team meetings where he gets to see everyone on the Blue Crab team come together and communicate.

Howard Alperstein

Howard brings years of home maintenance and repair to his home inspection career. Before joining Blue Crab, Howard had an extensive career in business management, which has enabled him to excel in personal relationships and communication skills. He also makes it a mission to educate homebuyers, not simply tell them information. When not hard at work inspecting, Howard can be found out hunting, training his chocolate Labrador retriever, or spending time with his two kids and wife. An Anne Arundel County resident, Howard dreams of having his own hunting and fishing guide service.

John Foley

Operations Director

John is a certified home inspector who has been inspecting houses for over 10 years with thousands of inspections under his belt. His passion for homes comes from over a decade of construction experience—from managing jobsites to building additions. While his current role generally keeps him away from the job sites these days, he enjoys seeing the younger and newer generation of inspectors grow and progress in the field, particularly those with Blue Crab. An avid outdoorsman, John enjoys spending time on the water or in the mountains with family and friends. And, always by his side, is his partner in crime, Coors, a silver Labrador retriever.

Josh Hagelin

Philadelphia Market Director

Compliant and licensed in both Maryland and Pennsylvania, Josh is an experienced and professional home inspector. Not only does he have an extensive background in construction and risk management, but he also has an unparalleled understanding of his client needs. Josh has the innate ability to educate new homeowners so that they feel fully informed and well-equipped. With a bachelor of science degree in business administration and a concentration in finance, Josh hopes to enhance Blue Crab’s visibility in the Philadelphia tristate region. In his free time, Josh enjoys gardening, exploring new restaurants, hiking and fly fishing.

Luke Bunting

Team Lead

Although he is relatively new to the field, Luke has already excelled in his role as a home inspector based on his people skills and dedication to educating clients. He enjoys his job because it gives him the opportunity to work with people from diverse professional and economic backgrounds. A Pennsylvania native, who currently resides in Frederick, MD with his wife, Luke enjoys hiking, kayaking and working out. His buckets list includes traveling to Europe and making stops in Italy, Greece, Croatia, France and Germany.

Randy Cottrell

Growth Director

A second-generation home inspector, Randy has been helping home owners and home buyers achieve their dreams for over 20 years. In addition to being an American Society of Home Inspector Certified Inspector and an International Association of Certified Home Inspector Master Inspector, Randy also serves as treasurer of the Greater Baltimore Board of REALTORS and spends time volunteering for both the Boys and Girls Club and Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna. In 2020, Randy and Blue Crab were collectively named as the affiliate of the year by the Greater Baltimore Board of REALTORS. And, in 2021, Randy was a graduate of the Maryland REALTORS leadership academy. A resident of Joppa (Rumsey Island), Randy likes to read crime fiction, practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and relax on the porch with his chocolate Labrador retriever, Boone. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Christina, and two daughters, Reagan and Rowan, by hiking, traveling, and watching movies.

Rick Willnecker

Client Care Coordinator

Rick has been a client care coordinator with Blue Crab Inspections for over 3 years now. In this role, Rick truly enjoys interacting with the diversity of our clients and referral partners. He finds his job very rewarding as he is always pushing himself out of his comfort zone. He is constantly adapting to and work within a fast-paced and competitive environment, ensuring that the clients’ needs are continuously met. When he was younger, Rick had dreams of becoming a video game designer or programmer. And while he’s not there quite yet, he does build his own computers in his spare time.

Scott Reed

One of the newest members of the Blue Crab team, Scott has “farmer blood” and, until recently, has spent most of his life as a farmer in Pennsylvania. However, Scott has already successfully transitioned and utilized his trades and skills learned over the last 18 years into his new role as a home inspector. Now a Maryland resident, Scott enjoys meeting new people and browsing the newest products at Harbor Freight Tools.

Lior Fagan

A man of many talents, Lior was born in Rishon Le’Zion, Israel and moved to Maryland with his family when he was young. A graduate of Towson University, Lior was awarded a departmental achievement award in recognition of his undergraduate honors thesis in psychology. Growing up, he learned how to read and play music as a pastime. Initially, he started with the violin and guitar; he now plays the drums, bass guitar and taught himself to play piano. Lior finds inspecting homes very appealing because no two homes are the same; they each tell a different story. Still on his bucket list is to travel and see the Scandinavian countries, learn to play the Lute, and see the Northern lights.
